“Buying pretzels just before going over the Tacony bridge. Street vendors that sold soft pretzels like they did five for a dollar or something.”
Colleen Ott
Another iconic Tacony structure, the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge opened to traffic at 12:30 AM on August 15th, 1929. For nearly 100 years, it’s connected Tacony residents to New Jersey. Many still remember it as the 5¢ bridge, though it costs much more than that to cross now!
Just below the Tacony-Palmyra bridge is Lardner’s Point Park, the perfect spot for observing the Delaware River!
