Storydale Avenue is a public arts project sponsored by the Tacony Community Development Corporation, and driven by the artist Mat Tomezsko with funding provided by Feet First Philly and PA DCED.
What are the symbols of the Tacony neighborhood? What items reflect the spirit of our community? This year, we asked Tacony residents to tell us about the places and objects that are important to them.
In a series of Community Paint Sessions, our neighbors came together to paint objects reflecting their favorite places, people, and things. Throughout these sessions, we shared stories about Tacony and the objects tying past, current, and future community members to each other. The images created at these events will be compiled by Mat Tomezsko into a series of public art installations placed on and inside of businesses along our beloved Torresdale Avenue.
